Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. O'Dell later became an anchor for morning news on WCBD TV and also as a crime reporter. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reports on the lenient police approach towards DUI cases resulted in an State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to state authorities re-issuing a more stringent directive regarding DUI situations. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. Her work in Charleston was the reason she joined as co-anchor, investigative report as well as NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to joining Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. In addition to her current job as the lead anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and as well contributes to Dateline NBC. She's covered The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted numerous pre-show arrivals show in preparation for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. She co-hosted both The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
